I am Aoife Mc Gowan and I am 25 years young,I am from Sligo,I graduated from studying Beauty Therapy last year and have just completed my 600 working hours to gain my International Cert.I have a great passion for all things beauty related but took me a while to take the jump and go to study Beauty,
After completing my leaving certificate I was unsure to what I wanted to study, like many young people of today.I started a post leaving cert course in social studies and passed with flying colours, only to realize this is not something I wanted to do. I then went and did an honours degree in Environmental Science,I have always had a love for the environment and wanted to explore this love. After 3 years of this I decided it wasn't for me and applied to beauty school, and from this I have never looked back, I love doing what I love.It makes working that much easier.I currently work in Voya Seaweed Baths in Strandhill ,Co. Sligo.
In my spare time I love to involve myself in community and charity events as I feel it not only keeps you very busy, but also helps to give a feeling of wellness and helps to give back to the community to be able to help others,
I also enjoy hill walking as we are so blessed to have such a magnificent landscape along the Wild Atlantic Way, It makes the walking that much easier.
I love to travel when I get the chance. I still have lots of places on my bucket list to try to get to see and also to return to see.It is a ambition of mine to be able to volunteer in an underdeveloped country to be able to give back I plan to try do this in the next few years,
I am delighted to be participating in the Mary from Dungloe Festival this year as it will be my first year attending the festival and have heard so much about it,I am honored to be the Wild Atlantic Way Mary as I love everything about the magic of Ireland and the Wild Atlantic Way is a piece of this magic.
